Kimball was in action yesterday in Perkins County for our District Track Meet. It was definitely one for the memory books. We almost managed to get through the field events before the first lightning delay. Before the 2nd rain/lightning delay, we had finished the field events and the running events through the girl's 3200. At this point, the decision was made to move the meet to Ogallala to finish up. We started running events back up at 5:45 pm and managed to complete the meet at 9:30 pm. We may not of ended up with the results that we wanted but our kids worked hard through all of the adversity that was thrown at them. Several kids still finished off their season with PRs even though they were running in a consistent downpour. I am proud of them for being flexible and still continuing to work hard even though the conditions were not ideal.
