Dear Kimball Public Schools Community,

This letter is in reference to a possible threat to the campus received on the evening of September 1, 2026 resulting in an increased law enforcement presence at district facilities today (September 2, 2026). Last evening, Kimball Public Schools was made aware of a possible threat to the safety of our students. School administration and local law enforcement agencies have been working swiftly and diligently to investigate the matter and substantiate the allegations. Today, students, staff, and patrons will notice an increased law enforcement presence at district facilities as we want to continue to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students.

The safety and security of our students and staff is and will continue to be our main priority. As we move forward, we are encouraging parents and students to report any information and provide any evidence to school administration of any potential threats to the safety of our students and staff. Any information that we receive will prove helpful as we strive to maintain a secure campus. We encourage the continued collaboration between Kimball Public Schools, the Kimball Police Department, the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office, and the community.

We are having an Instrument Night for 5th graders this coming thursday! Crossroads Music is graciously coming down from Scottsbluff to bring an instrument display for students to look at and try.

Any 5th graders interested in joining band need to come with a parent or guardian to see which instrument will suit them best, get a lesson book, and officially sign up for Band!

The Longhorn football team travelled to Gordon for a HOT early kickoff and comes a way with a convincing 52-24 W thanks to a dominant 2nd half that saw them outscore the mustangs 36-8! The team starts the season 1-0 and will be in action again next Friday for the home opener against Perkins County at 6 PM. Good luck! #LonghornPride

Our first community service project of the year is underway this morning! 🎨

We’re working to paint over the graffiti on the underpass north of town and help make our community a little better than we found it.

It was a great day to be a Longhorn! ❤️🤍 We had our first XC meet of the season today at the Panhandle Classic in Scottsbluff! It was a little warm out there, but our kids battled through it and ran great! 🏃‍♂️ 👏 Jax Toth ran a 22:40 to place 6th in the JV race! 👏 Kaymen Lusche ran an impressive 18:55 to finish 10th for varsity! 👏 Trajan Johnson ran a 19:38, finishing just one place out of a medal in the varsity race! The best part of cross country is watching these kids grow, improve, and get stronger week after week. Today was just the beginning, and we can't wait to see what this group accomplishes! 💪🏃‍♂️ Keep putting in the work, Longhorns! ❤️🤍

Kimball FFA had a great time at the WestCo Field Days. The students got to experience hands on learning with fertilizer sprayers, drones, GPS collaring systems for cattle, plant science and much more! We are thankful for this opportunity to learn about agriculture and are thankful for the individuals from WestCo and the UNL Research Center for allowing us to experience this event!
